I started boat building in 1998, working for Bob Hoare Ltd, building Contenders and Poole AB’s whilst undertaking a City and guilds in Yacht and Boat building which I completed in 2003. I then left Bob Hoare Ltd and joined Latham’s Boatyard repairing wooden yachts and involved in running the office until April 2006 when I set up my own business building and repairing dinghies and small yachts.  Since taking over the moulds in 2006 from Bob Hoare Ltd we have made a few changes to the way that the boats are built.  We have changed the core thickness, increased the number and size of the stiffeners in the structure under the deck and modified the back of the mould to make producing the boats easier. We can supply contenders in various stages of completion: Contender ready to deck (composite) + measurement and sail numbers. Contender GRP ready for fittings + measurement and sail number allocation. Contender ready to race  including covers, trolley and sails. We offer a comprehensive boat repair and maintenance service: Wood and fibre glass hulls. We are an approved insurance company repair centre. We offer a foil making and repair service.
